(Washington, DC – September 11, 2012) The management and members of Al-Huda Foundation (AHF) feel extremely aggrieved over the news flashed on different media on an unlucky incident of shooting at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin that has taken place a couple of weeks back. From the news it revealed that the gunman took the lives of six people, and critically injured three others, before he was shot dead by the security forces.
We offer our deepest sentiments and prayers for those who have lost their precious lives in this tragic incident, and those who have suffered from critical injuries. At this tragic hour, we stand in solidarity and in sympathy with the Sikh community in general, and those who have affected from this tragic incident, in particular and further pray that such a tragic incident may never repeat again.
Al-Huda offers its commendations as well as its appreciations to the daring police officers, who had put their lives on a glaring risk to control over the terrorist act of the attacker. Al-Huda offers the prayers for the quick recovery of ailing health of police officer, who received multiple shots from the assailant at the spot.
Al-Huda President, on behalf of management, members, and himself offered his deepest condolences for those who lost their lives in the recent past unfortunate shooting incident. He further said that, we stand in solidarity with Sikh brotherhood at this critical hour and may keep everyone immune from such unlucky incidents in future.
Although the motives of the assailant are still unknown, by updating this by the Oak Creek Police Chief, John Edwards, he referred it to an act of domestic terrorism, and intimated that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has already initiated its investigations over this shocking incident.
It is a matter of deep concern for all of us that not only this incident even a lot of Sikh community members have come across such issues of violence and discrimination in past as well, in the aftermath of September 11, 2001 heinous attack.
This certainly has sent a wave of uncertainty among the Sikh community members, for which, we strongly recommend to everyone to promote feelings of goodwill and fraternity, peace and harmony, patience and tolerance, and above all let us strive demonstrating the role of the best law adhering citizens of our greater country on the surface of globe – United States.
