Members from Al Huda Foundation came together to pack meals on November 13 at Lucas Oil Stadium. The meals were packed for Kids Against Hunger and will be distributed to poverty stricken areas in Haiti, Africa and the Ukraine. A portion of the meals will also be distributed through Gleaners, Midwest food bank and Second Harvest to benefit those in need locally. Al Huda members attended a two hour shift and packed more than 500 high nutritious meals. It was a very rewarding service project and an excellent team building activity. Everyone, young and old was working together as fast as they could to meet the million meal goal. Everyone really enjoyed the food packing experience. As the youngest member of the Al Huda team said, “It felt really good to help others.” This is the kind of experience our kids need to realize that there are far too many people in the world who don’t even have the bare essentials.
Kids against hunger holds a monthly pack the third Saturday of each month at their warehouse in Noblesville. To register or to learn more about Kids Against Hunger go to www.kidsagainsthunger.net
