Alhuda Board of Directors is pleased to introduce the Qari sheikh Hamidullah Qiyam. Sheikh Qiyam had accepted the position of “Quran and Islamic Studies Teacher” at Alhuda Foundation.
Sheikh Qiyam had just completed his PhD requirements (in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures)/ from Indiana University. He obtained Master degree in Islamic Law from Selcuk University – Konya, Turkey. He completed his Bachelor degree in Islamic Studies from Darul-Ulum Abu Sulayman – Jawzjan, Afghanistan. He studied Classical Arabic, Fiqh, Tafsir, and Hadith at Darul-Huffaz Rashidiya – Jawzjan, Afghanistan. He memorized the entire Quran at Darul-Huffaz Rashidiya – Jawzjan, Afghanistan in eight months. He worked as an Associate Instructor of Arabic Language at the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures, Indiana University — Bloomington, IN. He was the Imam and Outreach Coordinator at Rumi Foundation – Pantego, TX and an Imam and Youth Coordinator at Dallas Islamic Center – Dallas, TX. He also worked as the Religious Education Counsellor at Gaye Educational Center — Konya, Turkey. He received the following awards:
- Golden Medal in Hifdh and Quran Recitation Competition at the age of 10, Balkh, Afghanistan, 1994
- Full Scholarship at Afghan-Turk Friendship High School, Jawzjan, Afghanistan 1999
- Turkey Diyanet Vakfi Scholarship for Islamic Studies for Bachelors and Masters Education, Seljuk University, Konya, Turkey, 2003-2009
- International TPEG Grant for Academic Success at the University of Texas in Arlington, 2011
